Introduction to Musical Canine Freestyle
(Level 1)

Prerequisite : Puppy Preschool or Elementary Clicker Training. Clicker High and/or Tricks classes recommended although not required.

Musical Canine Freestyle is a choreographed musical program performed by handlers and their dogs. In simple terms, it’s dancing with dogs to music! It’s a fun sport for dogs and their people and the audiences love it! We incorporate basic obedience behaviors, rally-o and tricks along with other dimensions such as music, timing, costuming, routine development and showmanship to put together programs. These programs can be performed in the privacy of your own home, to compete for titles or just please a crowd. Musical Canine Freestyle beautifully demonstrates the joys and fun of bonding with your dog!

Musical Canine Freestyle
(Level 2)

Prerequisite : Musical Canine Freestyle – Level 1

For those of you who have completed one or more of our Freestyle classes, Freestyle Level 2 is an opportunity to “kick it up a notch!” Teah and Ivy will help you prepare for either public demonstrations, or perhaps just entertaining and wowing your family and friends, or live or video Freestyle Competition.

In this class we concentrate on building foundation skills by working on many great engagement games, learning about food delay, backchaining behaviors, and improving transitions between moves. In addition, we’ll work on teaching you how to choreograph your routines. We’ll, of course, continue to work on performing around distractions. Mary will be on hand to videotape each night and we can play it back for immediate viewing and feedback. We also plan some “run-through” practices with ring gates. Join us to improve and fine-tune your Freestyle skills!
